If You Are an International Student, You Can Receive Ongoing Support for the Duration of Your Time at Toronto Film School.

Here’s an outline of the type of support at your disposal. You are always welcome to contact your Program Advisor for more information.

What Services and Resources are available for International Students?

TFS has a variety of ESL resources to help you build your English skills and get comfortable with learning in an English environment.  Whether you are looking to improve your conversation skills or get some help building your academic English skills, we are here to assist you.   For more information on ESL support please click here.

If you ever have questions, comments, or concerns about your program during the duration of your time at TFS, you can speak with your program coordinators or your campus principal. Click here for the directory, or contact us and we’ll put you in touch.

The best advice and knowledge you can get about the TFS experience comes from our current students! The Toronto Film School Peer Mentoring Program is a great way for you to have conversations with current students who are eager to share their experiences. If you would like to find out more about your program from a student perspective, get advice on how to balance school priorities, or about life outside of school, speak to a peer mentor! Click here, or contact Student Services.

Peer tutoring is a great way for you to build your course specific knowledge.  Peer tutors are senior level students who have taken the courses before and done exceptionally well.  They are eager to help other students learn.  When you request a tutor you can be scheduled to meet them one-on-one or with a group, and they can help you better understand your course material.  For more information about Peer Tutoring please click here.

All International students studying in Ontario must be covered by a health insurance plan. As an international student, you must arrange for private health insurance coverage and show proof that you are covered with Health Insurance over your studies at Toronto Film School. Health insurance should cover the costs of medical services, such as seeing a doctor, hospital stays and treatment, examinations and emergencies

You can arrange your own Medical Insurance coverage from home or Toronto Film School offers health insurance plans with Ingle International while you study in Canada. Ingle has many policy options, including 24 hours per day, 7 days per week assistance for hospital and doctor visits, air ambulance, prescription drugs, dental emergencies, assistance with lost documents, interpretation and translations service. View Ingle health insurance plans.

TFS has campuses throughout the city. For a list of resources you can use to find housing near your campus, please click here, or contact us.
