What is the Peer Tutoring Program?
The Peer Tutoring Program is a great resource that is available to help you achieve success in your academic pursuits. Tutorials are scheduled around students’ availability. Peer tutoring is a complimentary service for all TFS students.
A Peer Tutor Can Support You and Help You Boost Your Grades.
How to Request a Tutor?
- Send an email to [email protected] to request a tutor.
- Include your full name, student number and the course(s) you would like tutoring.
- Once we receive your email, we will contact you to arrange the first meeting with your tutor.
- *Students who do not regularly attend class are ineligible for tutoring.
Who Are Peer Tutors?
- Senior level students who have been notably successful in their program.
- Students who have been trained in effective tutoring practices.
- Students who are eager to share their insights to help others succeed.
- Peer tutors are allotted up to four hours per week, as a paid position.
How Do I Become a Tutor?
- Send an email to [email protected] to express your interest
- You will be added to our Tutor list. Once a tutee becomes available and requires assistance in your area(s) of expertise, we will be in touch.
- Preference is given to students who have had a consistently strong academic performance throughout their studies.
- You must be in Term 2+ and have exemplary grades.
Studiosity 24/7 Online Tutoring
Studiosity is a 24/7 online academic support service available to all students providing math and writing support including ESL writing.
How to Access Studiosity
- Log in to Brightspace.
- In the top header menu, click on “Need Help?”.
- Select Studiosity from the dropdown options.

Yes.
Once your tutorial is scheduled, it will take place at the same day and time each week. You will arrange a schedule with your tutor that works for you both. When you feel like you no longer need a tutor, please let your Tutoring Coordinator know that you wish to cancel your sessions.
Contact Student Experience or your Program Advisor. If you require additional resources outside of the tutor’s area of expertise, we can help you locate these.
Contact your tutor as soon as you can to cancel your session. Alternatively, you can contact Student Experience and they can inform your tutor on your behalf. It’s very important to communicate with your tutor if you need to cancel a session.
