Welcome to the Accessibility Office at Toronto Film School
Toronto Film School strives to create a learning environment where disabilities and other protected human rights grounds are not a barrier to completion of courses and programs. We do this by removing barriers to access, advocating for inclusive practices, and providing academic accommodations and other resources.
Protected human rights grounds supported by our office include temporary or permanent disability; creed/religion (faith-based accommodations; family status (caregiving responsibilities); sex (pregnancy/breastfeeding); and gender identity and/or gender expression.
Students experiencing barriers related to protected grounds are encouraged to connect with the Accessibility Office, we meet with students one-on-one to develop an individualized plan for support.
Academic accommodations enable students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills and meet the essential requirements of the program. Academic accommodations do not reduce academic standards or alter essential requirements, they provide equitable access to participation.
Information shared with our office regarding protected human rights grounds is confidential and is stored separately from a student’s academic record. We do not share information without a student’s expressed consent.
